Mechanical Vase

Steve was born in north London and has lived in Peterborough for 26yrs.

Steve produces a range of thrown and slab constructed ceramics with 'riveted' mugs as well as rich moss green teapots and mugs. These complement his dated-copper mechanical vases which have a feel of a bygone age of steam.

Steven first tried his hand at pottery in 2002 before embarking on an Animation course at the UWE (Bristol University). More recently he has been inspired to take up ceramics because of a career change. He now works as an Art, Design & Technology Technician at a local school

Steve's work is influenced by anything and everything. However it is his love of animation that really inspires the mechanical feel to some of his work. Indeed, his pots were inspired by the animated duo Wallace & Gromit. Steve worked for Aardmans, the makers of Wallace & Gomit.

Steve is always sketching new ideas so new ranges are always in the pipeline.
