Following in the footsteps of the Glinton Cubs, 16 Glinton Scouts headed to Realitas Community Arts Centre last week to learn more about teamwork and to work in teams of three/four to turn their thinking on teamwork into art.
Following a tour of the Centre, where they were able to view the art of 60 locals artists to get some inspiration, the Scouts considered what was needed to make a good team, who they thought were a good team and what were the outcomes of good teamwork.
The Scouts then worked in teams of three/four to plan a picture that visually depicted the meaning of teamwork to them.
They then transferred this to canvas using acrylic paint. Even though there was only 30 minutes to actually paint the pictures, the quality and thinking behind the work was really impressive.
The teams with their are shown here.
The 'Glinton Scouts Teamwork Exhibition' will be formally launched in a few weeks.
Prints of the scouts pictures, as well as a number of other items such as post cards and a 2012 calendar (this will depend on demand) will be available to order and all proceeds will go to supporting their work.
The Glinton Scouts will be retaining the original pictures.
