17 Glinton Cubs descended on the Centre on Monday to try their hand at painting in acrylic on canvas.
After a tour of the Centre, the Cubs discussed what teamwork meant, while identifying words that captured the outputs of good team work: ‘making friends’, ‘being quicker’, ‘having fun’, ‘thinking big’ and ‘sharing ideas’ were a few of these.
The Cubs then worked in teams of five and used pencils, crayons and paper to plan a picture that visually depicted the meaning of teamwork to them. They then transferred this canvas. Check out the first four pictures!
The Glinton Scouts will be doing the same in two weeks and all their work will then go on display at the Centre through November. Prints will be available to raise funds for the Scouts.
The Smiley Face. This depicts how when people and animals come together as part of a team everyone can be very happy.
The House. It takes a team to build a house, while all the bricks work together to make a house...
The Sunset. The plan was to depict an army coming together as a team. With a bit of creative license it was decided that this army was in fact a UN Peace Keeping Force and that’s why the picture is so serene.
The Flag. The Union Jack depicts the team of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The people depict team members, while the animals are included as they often work together in teams (packs). The technology pictures demonstrate how technology links teams.
